About School
School of International Education (hereafter referred to as SIE), originally Sino-German International Institute founded in 2004, was established in June, 2015.
SIE, by absorbing advanced international educational ideology and high-quality educational resources, aims at cultivating highly specialized applied talents with Chinese and German culture background, international vision, international communication ability and professional ability.
In 2004, SIE cooperated with Merseburg University of Applied Science in Germany on undergraduate education programs in majors of Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, and Environmental Engineering, which were among the first batch of approved Sino-foreign cooperative education programs in Jiangsu Province. The programs adopted the “3+1.5” talents cultivation model, and graduates will be awarded dual bachelor's degrees from both universities when meeting the graduation and degree granting conditions of both parties. The programs have passed the undergraduate qualification evaluation for Sino-foreign cooperative education by the Ministry of Education three times in a row, and have been rated as a “Base of High-Level Demonstration Construction Program for Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education in Jiangsu Province”. Officials from Saxony-Anhalt State in Germany have referred to as “A Bridge of Friendship Between Germany and China, A Model of Sino-German Cooperative Education Programs”. Since the implementation, more than 900 students have been sent to study in Germany.
In 2021, SIE cooperated with SRH Berlin University of Applied Science in Germany on bachelor's degree program in Digital Media Technology, adopting the “3+1” cultivating model. Graduates will be awarded dual bachelor's degrees from both universities when meeting the graduation and degree granting conditions of both parties.
In 2017, SIE developed Sino-American ‘1+2+1’ Dual-Degree Program with Troy University in undergraduate majors of Finance, and Computer Science and Technology. Through mutual credit transfer, students can be awarded undergraduate diploma and bachelor’s degree by both universities after four-year learning. Since the implementation of the program, Jiangsu University of Technology has been awarded the “ Annual Exemplary Unit of Sino-American Cooperation on Higher Education and Professional Development Plan” by the China Center for International Educational Exchange many times.
In September, 2016, according to the “Promotion Action of ‘Belt and Road’ Education Cooperation” initiated by Ministry of Education and the “Action Plan for International Students Studying in Jiangsu” proposed by Education Department of Jiangsu Province, SIE started to enroll international students from over 40 “Belt and Road” countries.
