Specialties and Deciplines
The College of Computer Engineering establishes 6 undergraduate majors: Computer Science & Technology, Software Engineering, Information Management & Information System, Digital Media Technology, Network Engineering and Education Technology. The first 4 majors above are carrying out in-depth university-enterprise cooperation and implementing 3+1 talent development model (the first 3 years are for development of disciplinary and specialized fundamental knowledge and basic specialized skills, and the last year focuses on training of engineer's professional competence and integrated quality), and the pilot major for training of embedded talents for software service outsourcing of Jiangsu Province is approved.Furthermore, our Computer Science & Technology Major is a provincial special major, Computer Science & Technology Major and Software Engineering Major are provincial key majors under the category of computer, and Computer Science & Technology Major, Software Engineering Major and Digital Media Technology Major is a provincial pilot major for training of outstanding engineers. In recent years, the development of majors has witnessed substantial achievements, and the quality of talent training has improved year by year. The employment competitiveness of the majors ranks high among the university with continuously expanding social influence by training a large number of high-level application-oriented talents in the field of computer for the society.
Introduction of the laboratory
The college has 36 practice and teaching centers and laboratories in total, covering an experiment area of 4202m2. There are 2,863 sets of experimental equipment with a total value of RMB 26.50 million (the data are not quite accurate, should be over RMB 20 million).The college establishes 29 specialized laboratories, including the laboratories for network engineering, network security, software engineering, development of mobile Internet, computer chip maintenance, embedded technology, principles of computer composition, microcomputer principles & interface technology, ERP & E-commerce, Animated Game Development, virtual studio, TV program production, etc. and 7 university-level basic laboratories for computer application.4 laboratories, including network laboratory and laboratory of microcomputer principles & interface technology, passed the acceptance inspection conducted by Basic Experiment & Teaching Demonstration Center of Electrical Information of Jiangsu Province in 2007. The experiment & teaching center became practice and education center of information engineeringin 2013 upon approval, as a development station of provincial-level experiment and teaching demonstration center.
